Gallagher Aggregates Ltd is looking to appoint an experienced Weighbridge Operator to join our team at Hermitage Quarry, Maidstone.

As Weighbridge Operator, you will report directly to the Distribution Supervisor. You will be responsible for the operation of Weighbridge and systems and ensure standards are maintained as well as accurate distribution and ticketing of aggregate and waste. You will also be answering the phones to customers, taking orders, and working closely with the sales department.

  • Have previous experience but training will be provided.
  • Have high levels of motivation, strong initiative, drive enthusiasm and a proactive approach.
  • Good levels of IT literacy.
  • Be self-motivated with a positive outlook.
  • Be over 18 years old and hold a valid full driving license as required regular travel to Blaise Farm Quarry.
  • Provide Right to Work in the UK.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch of outgoing products, weighing of delivery vehicles and the issue of delivery documentation.
  • Accurate ticketing of materials and waste.
  • Operating weighbridge and controlling vehicle entry.
  • Ensure drivers entering the site are qualified and equipped to do so and are aware of company rules.
  • Taking customer orders and enquiries.
  • Inspecting incoming waste.
  • Completion of various compliance documents.
  • Dealing with hauliers and assigning workloads.
  • Dealing with Cash Sales customers.
  • Ensure that general housekeeping standards are always maintained to the highest level.
  • Report all accidents and incidents in accordance with company rules, undertaking specific investigations as appropriate.
  • Provide cover for the utility waste department during period of absence/holiday cover.
