After a period of negotiation, RG Group awarded us the groundworks contract for a new hotel development on a site next to London City Airport.
We carried out a series of enabling works packages to de-risk the site in terms of historical contamination and mapping of historical structures so that the piled foundations could be designed around these obstructions.
The main works comprised of RC pile caps and ground beams. A reinforced concrete ground floor slab on a gas membrane and insulation was then constructed. We returned to concrete the first-floor slab on metal decking.
The final visit comprised of S278 works and the completion of drainage, services and external works.
The size of the site raised logistical challenges that were dealt with by carefully sequencing and programming to enable us to deliver a successful project.
