ITV Explores Significance of Kentish Ragstone

Gallagher Aggregates was delighted to recently welcome ITV Meridian News to its Hermitage Quarry to film a feature on Kentish Ragstone as part of its ‘Spirit of the South’ series.

The film explores the historical significance of Kentish Ragstone since Roman Times and its continued use today for the restoration of historical buildings and in new build developments. ITV Meridian News visited Hermitage Quarry in Barming as Gallagher Aggregates is the last remaining supplier of Kentish Ragstone. It filmed the whole production process from quarrying the rock to sawing, splitting, tumbling, polishing and hand dressing the stone.
