Rotarians from the three Maidstone Rotary clubs joined forces to plant over 100 trees to help the environment. This project is part of the Rotary International initiative to plant one tree per Rotarian worldwide before April 2018. That will be 2.3 million trees planted this year.
The area was allocated for the Rotary Wood by Gallagher Aggregates Ltd which is re-instating the area after the quarrying is completed in North Pole Woods, Barming. The area is adjacent to the bridle path so that members of the public will be able to enjoy the woods for many years to come.
The photograph shows Rotarians together with Ray Pring and Kirk Froh, from Gallagher’s Woodland Management team.
This is one of the many projects that Rotary undertakes in the local area. If anyone is interested in knowing more about Rotary you can visit the Rotary South East website to find the nearest club to you.
