Gallagher Aggregates Ltd has invested in a new 3 way split roll screen for Hermitage Quarry.
The Swiss manufactured machine was first identified by Pat Gallagher at Hillhead quarry equipment show in 2016 and following successful trials at Hermitage and Blaise Quarry during 2017 the decision was taken to purchase a new machine.
The GIPO Screen operates at the quarry face and is extremely efficient at separating the quality limestone from the hassock fines at the point of extraction. In the longer term this means that the hassock will not have to be transported long distances between the quarry face and the main quarry processing area and instead will be directly placed as restoration material where it is needed.
The project is another example of innovative investment at the quarry to increase efficiency and raise productivity.
