Gallagher supports Tracey Crouch MP’s Defibrillator Campaign

The Gallagher Group is supporting the campaign led by Tracey Crouch MP, the MP for Chatham and Aylesford, to get more defibrillators into the local community. An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) funded by the Gallagher Group has been installed at Holmesdale Technology College in Snodland and was officially unveiled on Friday 17th January 2014.

Tracey Crouch MP recently embarked on a campaign to get defibrillators into the local community. Sudden Cardiac Arrest happens to people of all ages and survival rates across the UK vary from 2-12%. The use of CPR and a defibrillator within 3 minutes of the attack improves chances of survival from 5% to 75%.

The Gallagher Group was therefore keen to support this campaign and kindly agreed to fund the Defibrillator for Holmesdale Technology College in Snodland.

On Friday 17th January a short ceremony was held at the school to officially unveil the Defibrillator and give thanks to everyone who was involved and helped with this campaign. Pat Gallagher and Nick Yandle joined Tracey Crouch, Julia Campbell (Head teacher), school governors and teachers, Richard Macdonald from Cardiac Science (producers of the Defibrilattor), David Brooman (volunteer at Maidstone Hospital’s cardiology unit) and a student from the school with a known heart condition in marking this special occasion.
