Maidstone United's Gallagher Stadium has been shortlisted for an industry award.
The £2.9million community facility is among six vying for the Small Venue of the Year category at the TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2013.
The Gallagher Stadium was constructed in 2012 by Gallagher as Principal Contractor. Gallagher did the bulk earthworks and constructed the new grandstand, club house, car park and all facilities required by a new football stadium. In addition, Gallagher Aggregates Ltd produced a specialist Type 1X crushed stone which was laid underneath the artificial pitch.
Now in their fourth year, TheStadiumBusiness Awards are the only awards to recognise achievements from across the global stadium industry. Hundreds of nominations were received for the 15 categories.
The Gallagher Stadium will go up against the Adler-Arena Skating Center (Sochi, Russia); New York Stadium (Rotherham); Netanya Municipal Stadium (Netanya, Israel); Allianz Park (London) and NV Arena (Austria).
Maidstone United co-owner Oliver Ash commented: "The Gallagher Stadium has been a tremendous success for the football club, its supporters, the community and local economy. It is an honour to be short listed for this prestigious award and a proud moment for all those who were part of making it happen."
The winners will be announced at a gala evening in Manchester on 6 June.
