Despite the recent weeks of unexpected adverse weather; Gallagher has completed the 340m3 concrete placement to the “Maidstone building” at the new Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery. The concrete was supplied from our own batching plant at Hermitage Quarry.
This slab pour will be followed in coming weeks by “Kent building – Level 0”, “Canterbury building”, “Clydesdale building” and finally “Kent building – Level 1”.
The Kent Institute for Medicine and Surgery is a new £90 million hospital campus, which will serve the needs of the people of Kent, delivering complex surgical care, day treatment and outpatient consultation for a variety of clinical specialities. The new Kent Clinic will mean that people can be treated locally without having to travel to London - healthcare needs for the most demanding conditions will be met locally for the first time.
Gallagher is undertaking the complete infrastructure package incorporating substructures, drainage and external works. In addition we will be constructing the new access road and making improvements to an existing roundabout. Aggregates and ready mix concrete are being supplied from our nearby Hermitage Quarry.
