Consolidated Paper House
Aylesford Gateway Ltd part of the GallagherGroup company secured the site formerly known as Consolidated Paper House - a 70,000 sq ft industrial building on a three acre site very close to junction 6 of the M20. Aylesford Gateway Ltd has agreed a five-year lease with Saint Gobain Building Limited whose subsidiary, Minster Insulations, will use the property, transferring their operation from Tunbridge Wells.
Site works are currently being completed including refurbishment to the office areas, new perimeter fencing and concreting a yard extension. Minster Insulations will then have some fitting out works to do and will be fully operational in September 2008. In the longer term, Aylesford Gateway plan to redevelop the site.

Land at junction 8 of the M20
We continue to promote the 38 acre site for development and there are already some encouraging signs. The land is owned by the Rochester Bridge Trust. We are receiving enquiries from interested occupiers. If we are successful in obtaining approval for the land to be developed it could deliver a business park twice the size of Eclipse Park.
Gallagher's obligations under the option agreement to the Rochester Bridge Trust .
1. To promote the land to create a high quality business environment to help the economic growth of Maidstone by attracting investment to the town and thereby creating quality employment. The site is ideally situated being very close to the motorway junction. To minimise the visual impact of the development, it is proposed to undertake a significant reduction of levels within the sloping site. This will create high banking to the north and west boundaries of the site.
2. To promote the South Maidstone Strategic Link (formally known as the Leeds / Langley by-pass). This is considered to be a key piece of infrastructure for the Maidstone economy creating access to the Parkwood area, supporting the housing development planned under the Growth Point agenda and relieving Maidstone town centre and the villages of Leeds and Langley of the current high levels of heavy traffic.
Lipscomb
Gallagher was the main contractor on this design and build contract to construct and fit out Lipscomb Cars, over a 2 acre site, totalling 25,000m² floor space. The development was completed on time and to budget providing showrooms, administration, parts and servicing facilities.
Managing Director of Lipscomb Motors, Peter Barnes: "This was a huge investment for Lipscomb Cars, Gallagher was the obvious choice for a project of this scale. I was so impressed with their professionalism and integrity we chose not to go to tender.”
Client: Lipscomb
Architect: Bisset Adams
Value: £3 million
Construction: March 2006 to November 2006
Lennox Road, Northfleet
This 4 acre site was formally a chalk quarry where works had ceased many years ago, resulting in the site becoming overgrown.
Gallagher Aggregates purchased the company that owned the site and carried out extensive remediation work, carefully filling the pit with approximately 200,000 tonnes of single source material from the quarry in Aylesford.
The work was carried out over a 6 month period to a prescribed method with regular monitoring of top level and bottom level settlement continuing for a year.
Gallagher obtained planning permission for 50 dwellings and sold the site to Taylor Woodrow who are now close for completion of the development.
