Gallagher Farms helps to manage a farm totalling 600 acres around Hermitage Quarry. Under the control of Geoff Pearson, the farm is a combination of grazing for cattle and woodland with a well equipped complex of farm buildings and yard.
Some of the grazing land was formerly quarry and has been restored with inert material to a very high standard with new hedgerows and fencing. The beef herd comprises over 300 cattle, including Belgian Blues and Limousins, with an active and successful breeding programme.
Large areas of the estate are open to the public and footpaths, tracks and benches have been created for the benefit of walkers, cyclists and horse riders from the local community.

The Hermitage Estate covers some 600 acres, most of which has been returned to farmland. A series of walks, tracks and bridleways have been introduced for the benefit of the local community to enjoy.
