Waitrose, Kings Hill
Gallagher was awarded the groundworks and externals package for the construction of a new Waitrose convenience store on the Kings Hill development near West Malling. The new 9,000 sq ft store is adjacent to the current Liberty Square retail development, and is within close proximity to the former control tower.
Gallagher’s contract was to:
- reduce level excavation and off site disposal
- install concrete foundations to the store and supply and install PCC beams
- drainage works and deep bore soakaways
- service ducting and pits
- PQ concrete service yard works
- construction of RC store slab
- car park construction
- external building finishes
- street furniture installation
All aggregate and concrete for the scheme was supplied by Gallagher Aggreges Ltd from its Hermitage Quarry.
This contract was completed on time, ensuring that the new store was able to open on schedule.
