Sittingbourne Northern Relief Road

Gallagher Aggregates Ltd has supplied 160,000t of fill material for the new Sittingbourne Northern Relief Road. This scheme is promoted by Kent County Council.

The Sittingbourne Northern Relief Road is 1.4 km of new single carriageway road in the north east of Sittingbourne, which will connect two sections of the relief road; the sections between Grovehurst interchange on the A249 and Ridham Avenue, and between Castle Road and the East Hall Farm residential development. It is designed to take traffic away from the town centre and encourage regeneration.

Gallagher Aggregates Ltd was contracted by principal contractor Jackson Civil Engineering to supply fill aggregates, most of which was recycled, to increase ground levels and build embankments for bridges which span Milton Creek and the Kemsley Light Railway.
