Sheppey Academy
Gallagher has been awarded a contract by KIER to undertake the groundworks for one of the new Academies being built in Sheppey. This contract includes the construction of substructures for the new school buildings, including pile caps, ground beams and raft slab, substantial earthworks on site to reprofile levels to suit the new layout and new drainage systems. The final earthworks filling elements are to be completed after the demolition of the existing school.
At present, external finishes are not included within our contract but it is expected that these will be added to the overall package.
The contract was undertaken with the understanding that there would be minimal waste. This was managed by Kier through a quarterly waste management report. As much waste as possible was taken to Gallagher’s Hermitage quarry to be recycled.
