Minster Insulation & Dry Lining, Aylesford

“At the end of 2007, I was given the task to move this business to larger premises. This was to be out of Tunbridge Wells to a more central location in Kent, to an area such as Paddock Wood, Maidstone or Ashford.

"I looked at a number of premises through local agents and finally short listed two in the Maidstone area. However, neither were totally suitable. We continued our search to no avail. Finally, with very little time left on our lease, I tried Maidstone Borough Council. I spoke to John Foster who was extremely helpful and in turn put me in touch with Gallagher, with the Forstal Road, Aylesford depot in mind.

"I first visited the site alone and was immediately satisfied for the following reasons:

  • Yard space
  • Access into premises and to motorway links
  • Size of warehouse and offices
  • Location for local trade
  • Gallagher's foresight for future plans in support of the site and willingness to work together

"Since moving we have, even in these difficult economic times, been able to increase our fleet. We have also become so much more efficient. All stock is now in one location; picking orders is 50% quicker, offloading goods and serving customers is immediate. Transport efficency has doubled, with our vehicles managing 2,3 and sometimes 4 runs a day.

"Our business grew 15% in 2009. Growth of a further 10% is predicted this year and early signs are encouraging, with Maidstone, Ashford, Canterbury and East Kent growing in construction from a distribution point of view. Situated just off junction 6 of the M20 is perfect for our future growth.”
