Haberdashers' Aske's Crayford Academy

A new secondary Academy has been built in Crayford which includes classrooms, kitchen and welfare facilities and a new sports hall.

Gallagher was appointed by Willmott Dixon Construction Limited to undertake the groundworks. The works package included a 60,000m3 large earthmoving activity, with all material being retained on site. The footprint was then covered by a pile mat. Gallagher attended the piling rig, before excavating and casting the pile caps and ground beams. The foul and surface water drainage was then installed, which included a large attenuation tank. This was followed by the installation of services.

After the construction of the building, Gallagher then returned to site to undertake the externals works package, which included a complex arrangement of block paving and slab laying, along with the preparation of the MUGA and sports pitches. The remainder of the drainage was then completed.

At the very end of the project, Gallagher was instructed to undertaken a comprehensive S278 highways works, which included the formation of speed tables, ramps, a new bellmouth, drainage and a new street lighting design.

This contract clearly covered a typical range of services that Gallagher is able to offer, complete on time and on budget.
