Brompton Barracks
A new Officers’ Mess is being constructed within the existing Barracks at Brompton.
Gallagher’s contract comprises all substructure and external works up to dpc level, ready for the installation of a new modular building. The works include earthworks, retaining walls which are up to 5.5m high, drainage, installing complex gas membrane, services installation and soft and hard landscaping. Gallagher will also be laying approximately 8,500 m2 of face brickwork.
The works are being carried out in four phases; phase one commenced in April 2011 and involved Gallagher undertaking the groundworks. Gallagher will then return to site after the new modular building has been constructed to complete external works. The existing Officers’ Mess will then be demolished, after which Gallagher will return to site to do the groundworks in preparation for the construction of more modular buildings. The final phase will commence in January 2013 when Gallagher will complete the external finishes and paving.
