IT Helpdesk / 1st Line Support Technician
Location : Maidstone, Kent
Contract : Permanent
Hours : Full Time
Gallagher is one of the largest privately owned, building, civil engineering, quarrying and property businesses in Kent, with nearly 40 years experience and a desire to continually improve the services we provide and the environment in which we live and work. Due to the expanding needs of the business and the increasing importance of our IT systems, we are looking for a permanent IT Helpdesk / 1st Line Support Technician.
The role is mainly office based and the primary responsibilities will include
- Logging IT faults and managing them through to resolution.
- PC configuration and maintenance
- Basic network and infrastructure support
- Purchase of IT equipment and consumables
- Analysis of IT costs including all data and voice costs
- Training IT Users on hardware and some software applications
- Deputising for the IT Manager
You are required to demonstrate a good degree of initiative and common sense and the ability to troubleshoot and learn new skills quickly. Above all you will need to demonstrate a friendly approach with a passion for dealing with people and helping resolve IT related issues.
To be considered for this role you will have :
- 3 – 5 years similar experience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot
- A good understanding of MS Windows operating systems and MS Office applications
- Experience working in an IT support environment
- A keen interest in IT
- Full Driving Licence
