Gallagher's Kentish Ragstone
Gallagher's Kentish Ragstone exhibited at the recent Historic Buildings, Parks and Gardens event in London to promote the stone and its use in new build and restoration projects.
Gallagher is the only remaining supplier of Kentish Ragstone, the most widespread stone used throughout the South East of England since Roman times. Many historical buildings are built of Kentish Ragstone, including The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, the Guildhall, Leeds Castle and Dover Castle.
There is growing demand for Kentish Ragstone for new build projects, upholding and maintaining the unique local character of southern England’s historic architecture. Kentish Ragstone is being increasingly specified by architects as awareness of its attributes grow.
As the only producer, Gallagher is increasing the supply of Kentish Ragstone, the only hard limestone in the South East of England, through investment in new production equipment.
By exhibiting at the event and other forthcoming events such as the Stone Show in April 2015, Gallagher is promoting the stone and making more people aware that the stone is still available today.
