Kent Design and Development Awards winners announced
Units G and H at Hermitage Court Business Park, Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, came third out of 50 entries in the Commercial, Industrial and Retail category at the Kent Design and Development Awards, which were announced last week.
Units G and H were the only speculative office buildings on the shortlist. The two office buildings were constructed by Gallagher in 2012 and 2013, and were designed by gdm Architects with more than a little input by Gallagher. The awards recognised the quality of their design, which incorporated high quality, low maintenance features such as a cladding system and Kentish Ragstone.
Units G and H were both built on a speculative basis during the height of the downturn, which showed Gallagher’s confidence in Hermitage Court as a business location. Unit H was let to Havas Shared Services Ltd whilst still under construction. Unit G is now fully let, with Superior Care, Care UK and the Student Support Centre Ltd occupying its four office suites.
The trophies that were presented to the winners of the Kent Design and Development Awards on 6th November were made by local sculptor Jason Mulligan, using Kentish Ragstone supplied by Gallagher’s Hermitage Quarry.
