Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery opens
The new Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery at Junction 7 of the M20 in Maidstone, is now open.
The Kent Institute for Medicine and Surgery (KIMS) is a new £90 million hospital campus, which will serve the needs of the people of Kent, delivering complex surgical care, day treatment and outpatient consultation for a variety of clinical specialities. The new clinic will mean that people can be treated locally without having to travel to London - healthcare needs for the most demanding conditions will be met locally for the first time.
Gallagher undertook the complete infrastructure package incorporating bulk earthworks and pre-earthworks drainage; substructures, drainage and external works. In addition we constructed the new access road and made significant S278 roadwork improvements to an existing roundabout and junctions within a greatly reduced timescale. Aggregates and ready mix concrete were supplied from our nearby Hermitage Quarry.
