Building through the downturn
The latest edition of South East Business includes an article on Gallagher and its recent construction of two new office buildings at Hermitage Court, on the outskirts of Maidstone.
Here is an extract from the article:
"The Maidstone-based company has met the recession head on by building two speculative office suites at Hermitage Court, Hermitage Lane, just outside of Maidstone.
"Not only did Gallagher fly in the face of conventional wisdom by building new office space at a time when the economy is not exactly booming, it finished the buildings to Grade A standard and incorporated Kentish Ragstone into their construction.
"The somewhat brave move paid off when French-owned Havas, the sixth largest advertising and marketing group in the world, snapped up a ten-year lease on the first of the two buildings before it was even finished."
