New investment in recycling facility at Hermitage Quarry
Hermitage Quarry has recently added to its fleet of mobile equipment a 80 tonne mobile impact crusher complete with screening unit to enhance its current recycling facilities and enable Gallagher Aggregates Ltd to recycle more waste, more efficiently.
The recently refurbished Metso 1315s tracked crusher unit has a capacity of 600 tonnes per hour and produces both crushed concrete from construction and demolition waste and recycled type 1 from road-dig and asphalt arisings. It replaces two Metso 1213s’s crusher units which had similar configurations but with smaller capacities.
This machine was purchased in Norway and shipped to Immingham. It then underwent a major refurbishment in Worksop before arriving at Hermitage Quarry in February.
The recycling facilities of Hermitage Quarry have been significantly enhanced since the arrival of the Metso 1315s and fuel consumption has been reduced by 40%. It is enabling Gallagher Aggregates Ltd to meet the growing demand for recycled aggregates, improving its production capability and by recycling more waste more efficiently, it is reducing the amount of waste that is sent to landfill. The purchase of this crusher is further evidence of the Gallagher Group’s commitment to investing in the most modern and efficient plant and machinery.
