Amended plans submitted for new Next concept store for Maidstone
Amended plans have been submitted for a new Next Home and Fashion store at Eclipse Park in Maidstone, reflecting feedback arising from the consultation process. It is anticipated that this will not delay the planning process and we remain hopeful that the plans will go before the Planning Committee shortly.
The plans submitted to Maidstone Borough Council will bring one of the company's brand new concept Home and Fashion stores to Maidstone at Eclipse Park, close to Junction 7 of the M20.
Just over 90% of the feedback forms received at the public consultation showed support, or support with reservations, for the plans. The planned store will combine fashion with homeware and DIY products. It will be built to a high specification utilising brickwork, curtain walling, limestone cladding and Kentish Ragstone. As a high quality development it will be a fitting addition to Eclipse Park, near Junction 7 of the M20, and will create 180 jobs.
Eclipse Park is owned by Gallagher Properties. Nick Yandle, Chief Executive of Gallagher Properties, said, "Many visitors to the public exhibition said that they were very impressed by the external and internal design of the new building. We are delighted that Next has chosen Eclipse Park as a location for one of its showcase stores in preference to other locations in Kent."
