Massive laser-guided concrete pour
Gallagher has supplied nearly 250m2 of ready mix concrete, designed for a power-float finish, for a 2575m2 shed to house 134,000 chickens, which will produce in excess of 100,000 eggs per day. The mix included Kentish Ragstone produced at Hermitage Quarry and polypropylene fibres, which were added to the mix at the batching plant.
As the customer was using a laser guided screed, it was essential that the deliveries were precisely timed for this monolithic pour, to ensure that the customer’s stringent requirement that the floor was laid in one day was met. The pour was completed by mid afternoon that same day.
The client, Connop and Son, stated how pleased it was with the quality and service received from Gallagher, and as a direct result Gallagher Aggregates has since been awarded another order to supply a further 400m3 to a site in Headcorn, Kent.
