The outgoing Mayor of Maidstone, Councillor Brian Mortimer, has unveiled a plaque at Mote Park to commemorate his year as Mayor.

The plaque was set in a piece of Kentish Ragstone next to a tree planted by the Mayor as part of the ongoing regeneration of Mote Park. The plaque was donated by the Gallagher Group, which is acting as main contractor for the regeneration project.

The Mayor of Maidstone was accompanied by Councillor Fran Wilson, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, and Pat Gallagher, Chairman of the Gallagher Group, who was able to show them all the improvements that have been made to the park.

The regeneration project is due to be completed in June.
