Gallagher starts work on Kent Institute for Medicine and Surgery
Gallagher has started work on the prestigious new Kent Institute for Medicine and Surgery in Newnham Court, Maidstone on behalf of Vinci.
The Kent Institute for Medicine and Surgery is a new £90 million hospital campus, which will serve the needs of the people of Kent, delivering complex surgical care, day treatment and outpatient consultation for a variety of clinical specialities. The new Kent Clinic will mean that people can be treated locally without having to travel to London - healthcare needs for the most demanding conditions will be met locally for the first time.
Gallagher is undertaking the complete infrastructure package incorporating substructures, drainage and external works. In addition we will be constructing the new access road and making improvements to an existing roundabout. Aggregates and ready mix concrete will be supplied from our nearby Hermitage Quarry. Work will run through to October 2013 spread over two or three phases.
As a Maidstone-based company, Gallagher is thrilled to be involved in the construction of such an important development in Maidstone as it will provide employment for many people involved both in the construction and then the ongoing operation of the hospital.
